Mailing Address and Donations

The City of Pullman and the nonelected officials on its Site Plan Review Committee do not appear willing to call a public meeting on Wal-Mart's proposed site plan for a Superstore near Bishop Blvd. Indeed, it appears as if the city may force its own citizens to ask for legal appeals in order to have full public discussion of such matters as the Superstore's effect on the built and natural environment and its "fiscal impact on the city," to quote from the Pullman city code for Site Plan Reviews.

In order to meet this possibility, especially in light of the very short deadlines open for filing legal appeals, the Pullman Alliance for Responsible Development has entered into discussion with a land-use lawyer and is raising funds to meet the anticipated legal expenses of filing and conducting appeals.

As you know, good legal help is expensive. Please consider making a donation to help insure an open, democratic discussion and review of Wal-Mart's site plan proposal and thus to help guarantee that all voices are heard on a matter so vital to the future direction of the City of Pullman as a community.

In addition to funding legal representation, donations will also help support PARD's advertising, its petition drives, and its various task forces. The use and disbursement of accumulated funds by the Pullman Alliance for Responsible Development is a matter of public record and open to inspection at any time.

Please note that donations are confidential but not tax deductible. Checks should be made out to Pullman Alliance for Responsible Development (or PARD) and mailed to:
